Merlin Olsen was a famous American football player. He was born on the fifteenth of September 1940.He also worked as an actor in the Little house on the Praine as Victor French. He was awarded the Rams Most Valuable player in 1970 and 1972. He also won the Outland Trophy Winners award in 1961.merlin Olsen graduated with a degree in finance. He was a member of the State of Utah Sports hall of fame.
He was selected as top fifty athletes by sports Illustrated. He started his career by playing in NFL (national football league).He played for the Los Angeles Rams of NFL. He was first played on the offense side and was later moved to the Defense line. He was nicknamed “The Fearsome Foursome”. In 1967-70 he was voted for the Outstanding Defensive Lineman.
After Merlin Olsen retirement from National Football League NFL he joined as a color commentator. He also worked in his own drama aired on NBC casting as a priest in “Father Murphy”. He worked for NBC and later moved to CBS Sports. Merlin Olsen was married to Susan Wakley and was the father of three children. Merlin Olsen died on the eleventh of March 2010.He was having a disease called mesothelioma. He was having his treatment for his cancer. He took courses of chemotherapy but couldn’t survive the fatal disease. While he was continuing his career in the broadcast industry, he was aged sixty-nine and was reported dead at the city of hope hospital, LA on Thursday. In his career he was multi talented man being a sportsman and also working in the TV industry
