What time the meteor shower could be seen on November 16?
Leonid meteor shower has been predicted to start in the wee hours of the November 17 before the dawn. According to the predictions made by NASA, the most suitable time to view the meteor shower is 4.45 a.m. EST on November 17. The sky-watchers living in North America, Europe and in some parts of Asia will be able to have the best view of the show. The observers have been advised to remain away from city lights and go to fields or country-side where the beaming lights will not steal away the brightness of the meteors shower.
NASA has predicted that observers in these areas will be able to see 30- to 50 meteors in an hour at the peak time i.e. between 2:00 a.m. and 4.50 a.m. These streams of comet particles will move across the sky at a speed of 45 miles per second and hence you will see a swift radiant beam on the sky. NASA has also predicted that a strong burst of the meteors could be seen during the peak time of the shower. During this burst more than 300 meteors per hour will travel through the sky.
For the interested readers, meteors shower is a result of comets breaking into small particles which then move across the space. These particles could be seen moving across our skies when they pass by the earth’s orbits. These meteors are called Leonid meteors they are radiated by the constellation Leo. Leonid meteors showers are seen when the earth turns moves through the debris of comet resting in the space.
