In his time he was known as an intelligent man and that is probably why the labour party chose him as his leader but all great things must come to an end, as it is said, and it comes to be known when we hear of demise of Michael Foot. Left-wing to the core and charismatic to the end Michael Foot passed away at a ripe old age of ninety-six.
Gordon brown, who is the current prime minister of Great Britain, led the tributes to the man who stood his ground during the Falkland Crisis of 1982 winning over the respect of the other parliamentarians. Michael Foot had been patient in his ambition to become the leader of his labour party and patience paid its virtue when he was chosen leader at the age of sixty-seven with most of his energetic years spent.
Michael Foot was born on the twenty-third day of July in the year 1913. In his life he has been a writer, a member of the parliament and the leader of the opposition. Michael Foot strongly believed that the world should be disarmed of its nuclear arsenal, that the state should own all major industries. You could say that he was a nationalist with a clean intention if you may. He served as a member of parliament for a decade running through the mid forties to the mid fifties before taking a five year leave after which he was elected as a parliamentarian again through the 1960′s by-election. He then served for thirty-two years till the year 1992.
