Admit it people, many were actually looking forward to listen to her on a ‘not-very-political’ talk show and Jay Leno provided us with the opportunity to have a sneak peek into the President’s life through a chat with his wife. Yes, Michelle Obama, the first lady, appeared on the Jay Leno Show this Friday night and made many glued to their sofas for an hour.
Jay Leno knows how to start a show perfectly. His compliment to Mrs. Obama gives other a lesson how to kick start a conversation. ‘It may seem I’m flirting with you, but you have a wonderful smile,’ said Jay Leno to the first lady in cheekily way. ‘I’ll tell my husband you said that,’ answered Michelle with a grin.
The rest of the show was also truly interesting. Jay bombarded the first lady with quick questions to which Michelle answered quite diplomatically (after all she’s the wife of a politician!).
The first lady spoke about her music choice, about her girls, which TV show she watched while growing up, about her personal life, and about her life as a wife of a country’s president. When asked about who disciplines the girls? She or Mr. President? She said that their grandmother spoils them the most. Answering to question about what’s she listening to now a days, Michelle told that her iPod contains Stevie Wonder, Robin Thicke, Herbie Hancock, and Mary J. Blidge. She told that she grew up watching Brady Bunch and that she was allowed to watch TV for one hour only which she pent watch the same show always. Jay then gave her the challenge to name the ten children of Brady in 10 seconds or less which she did in fewer than 10 seconds.
The First Lady also spoke about her personal life. She told that she gets annoyed when her husband beats her in tennis game. When asked whether she ever got nervous while meeting people, given she meets so many people now. Michelle replied, ‘I’m nervous now, this is terrifying. ’ She then mentioned the names of Pope, Stevie Wonder, and the Queen of England.
Michelle Obama appeared on the show briefly via satellite. She wore a printed top with a brown bow on one shoulder.
