Midnight Mass, the traditional celebration on the Christmas Eve is considered the beginning of Christmas Day. Midnight Mass is observed by Catholic and Anglican Churches through out the world. Midnight Mass is commonly known as Eucharist.

The joke has become quite pertinent in recent years as churches in different countries hold this Midnight Mass at different times and some of these churches even start it as early as 7.p.m on Christmas Eve.
