Mimi Farina was the famous singer and musician of the late 20th century in other word it would be true to say that she was the song of nature. She was the sister of well-known folk singer Joan Baez. She was not only a singer but also was an efficient activist of her time.
From her very early age, she had an instinct towards art and literature and she always got inspiration from the people of this field, she was just 18 when she got married to a musician, composer and a novelist and that was not the collaboration of two people but of two souls and two thoughts, both worked together on several significant folk albums, most remarkably “Reflections in a Crystal Wind”and “Celebrations for a Grey Day” both on Frontline Records. Unluckily her husband Richard Farina died when she was just of 21 and she got married again to Milan Melvin and continued to perform in her field but after two years of her second marriage, she got divorce from her husband.
Though she had to face many tragedies in life but Mimi Farina was quite strong and courageous and capable of overpowering inexorable, critical evaluation with her elder sister, Joan Baez, and following her success.
In spite of an outstanding singer, Farina was an ambitious writer and a beautiful person as well. She has a golden heart and always intended to devote her life for others. Her work in Bread and Roses and her great job for humanitarian will always be remember in history and in the hearts of her fans.
