R & B star had to face questions from detectives who had suspicion that she might have killed her boy-friend. The family of the deceased tried to turn the focus of investigators towards the possibility of murder rather than his apparent suicide.
They are of the view that the story described by Monica, his girlfriend, seems to be groundless as he couldn’t commit suicide. They strongly believed that she knows more than what she tells and not disclosing the real facts behind his death.
According to facts of the case, Monica was called by her boyfriend Jarvis Weems to meet him at a cemetery where his brother was buried. According to Monica, she went there and they sat in the car. He locked the car from inside and when asked him what he was going to do, he told her that he wants to be with his dead brother and then he shot himself in the head. She told that she hardly managed to come out of the car by smashing window. She told that he was in great pain and she consoled him.
The family of Jarvis was dissatisfied with the misdirected investigation and they believed that the story of Monica is not enough and she knows much more than that but not disclosing. Tyra, the mother of Jarvis sees Monica’s story with doubt because Monica told that he killed himself. “If he had killed himself, why would he use his right hand to push the trigger as he was a left hander” said the Jarvis’ mother.
The incident happened in 2003. Now Monica is living very happy life. Police couldn’t find anything against her but the “lose plot” of the described story remains a mystery to date.
