Most Extreme Airports is a brand new show on the history channel; the show shall feature some of the most extreme airports in this world. The Eagle County Regional airport was featured on the last night’s episode of the show. The airport was perhaps selected to be featured in the show due to the unique approach of the airport and its departure routes, the airport is surrounded with rocky terrain and it is quite a different experience to take off and land a plane on this kind of airport.
The airport was shot by the cameramen of the Most Extreme Airports show in the winter season, they made videos of the take off’s made by the planes and also the landings on to the airport. The airport is about two thousand meters above sea level. The area occupied by the airport is about six hundred and thirty two acres. The airport is mostly operated in the winter season, in summer the United Express and the American Airlines offer their services to the airport. In winter the people prefer to use the airport in order to reach the nearby ski resorts.
A number of private plane owners also like to land on the airport due to its bigger size as compared to other nearby airports. The transport services are abundantly available at the airport and the people can hire a car on rent or take the buses run by the county in order to reach their desired destination, including the ski resorts. Some private charter companies also provide their services in order to reach the nearby areas.
