MSC Industrial supply is one of the largest American direct marketers of industrial equipment and supplies. The mission of the company is to be the world’s best industrial suppliers. Dougles Jones, the senior vice president of global supply chain management and operations has been promoted as executive vice president of global supply chain management of MSC industrial supply.
He joined the company as vice president of fulfillment in 2001. In 2005 he was promoted as senior vice president of logistics and in 2008 he was promoted as senior vice president global supply chain operations. Now after 4 years he stepped further from senior to executive.
He was the part of Chicago based McMaster Carr Supply Company for ten years. He remained on different key managerial posts, portfolios like procurement, finance, inventory management and fulfillment. He then joined Fisher Scientific and remained with Fisher Scientific from 1998 till 2001. He served there on the portfolio of vice president for distribution for the central region of America.
In his current role as executive vice president he will be looking after the activities like logistics, engineering, purchasing and operations. He will report to his immediate boss, Erik Gershwind, the chief operating officer and executive vice president. He will also be responsible for the global sourcing and brand management.
The Chief Operating Officer and President of MSC, David Sandler spoke highly of Dough. He said he served with his full potential in his tenure of 8 years and he is very experienced in distribution, supply chain management and logistics.
