Apparently, scientists’ quest about water on the moon has not ended yet as NASA launched two space crafts on Friday to blow moon up and to look for any signs of water!
From years space scientists are trying to figure out the possibility of life on moon. The essential factor needed for life on moon is water and air. Scientists are trying to search for both on the moon. NASA launched lunar missile which landed on moon and made heavy blasts in its search for water on the moon. These missiles were launched with twice the speed of a bullet and had a power of 1.5 tons of TNT. The missile split up in two pieces when it landed on the moon as originally planned by NASA.
For those who are shocked at the news, it is not for the first time that moon is blown up by the space scientists. The Thursday night’s blast is 20th lunar crash since man landed on the moon. Russia had been doing such blasts on the moon since decades for research purposes.
Many have made their reservations about NASA’s recent activity on moon. They have criticized the blasts and are of the view that such blasts should be stopped while others are concerned that these blasts may affect the moon negatively. However, it has been made clear by the head of NASA’s lunar crash mission, Dan Andrews, that such blasts will not affect the moon. He said that it’s like a feather which falls on a jet plane. He also mentioned that similar blasts often occur at moon due to the rocks. The only difference is that those blasts occur due to natural processes.
While NASA’s blown-ups at the moon have caused extreme criticism, there are many who have acclaimed it. Peter Schultz, who has previously worked with NASA and is now a professor at Brown University, says that he got a telescope, which was capable of capturing 1 million frames per second, to look at blasts and its details. Schultz said that it is part of human nature as humans want to learn more about objects by dissecting it.
