Nathan Chen has won a gold medal in men’s novice category of AT&T U.S Figure Skating Championship 2010. Chen is a small boy with amazing talent. He was the youngest skater in the competition he played the final with Emmanuel Savary a student of Delaware University and finished as a winner. He had a five point lead at the start of final program and was able to maintain it.
Nathan Chen has a silver medal in last years Intermediate Junior National and a bronz in the Juvenile division of Junior National in 2008.
He missed two jumps and fell twice but was jubilant in the end. Nathan Chen a salt lake boy won the title with 137.04 overall points with 51.24 in short program and 85.80 in Free Skate. Emmanuel Savary finished at 133.65 points and earned a silver medal. The bronz medal went to Timothy Dolensky from Atlantic FSC with 133.17 points.
Nathan Chen trains at Salt Lake Sports complex for more than one and a half year under the coach Genia Chernyshova the former junior world champion coming from St Petersberg Russia. The coach speaks highly of Chen and thinks he is too smart. He is praiseworthy of Chen’s talent and aspiration to train hard. The coach is hopeful that Chen has all the traits of a champion and will succeed to be a world champion as the time comes.
Nathan Chen is looking forward to the winter games of 2018 as he will not be eligible for 2014 winter games at fourteen years of age.
