William Rudd has won more than 1,500 prizes by playing his losing lottery tickets at NH Lottery using the schemes ‘Replay’ program. NH Lottery was launched three years ago. The lottery has become quite popular among the North Hampshire state’s residents. The 3-year-old lottery scheme is being marketed by Griffin, York and Krause. The Manchester-based company crafted the lottery scheme and runs it for the North Hampshire state.
Since September, NH Lottery has involved 180,766 participants. These participants have played more than 45 million tickets of worth $142 million. More than 415,000 prizes have been won by the registered participants, approximately 2.3 prizes for every participant.
William Rudd, a 64-year-old retired man, frequently participates in the lottery and has won 1,500 prizes till date. He says that he is now known as the ‘lottery guy’ among his friends and family. His recently own prizes include 20 pizzas, 33 ice-cream cones, four bottles of maple syrup, 92 steakhouse tickets, 484 cups of coffee, and 161 chicken sandwiches plus membership of a fitness club for one month. Rudd says he spends $20 on buying lottery tickets in a week. He says sometime he doesn’t win anything at all for a pile of tickets but some time he wins too many prizes at the same time. Rudd says that he often exchanges his prizes with others and collects tickets from them.
NH Lottery uses a points system. For every dollar the participant earns some points. These points qualify them to enter the monthly and quarterly lottery drawings. If they win they get prizes such as $100 gas gift card or theater tickets. Quarterly prizes are bigger than the monthly ones. In addition to these prizes some instant prizes are also awarded. The instant prizes are awarded randomly and mostly include gift cards of worth $5-$10. Winners of these cards can either use them for shopping or can exchange them for points to enter the drawings.
