Nnamdi Asomugha despite having a chipped bone in his left wrist at the start of season played fabulously against Chargers in the presence of almost 70 thousand Raider’s fans on 14th September . Nnamdi completely covered one side of the field. Although Raiders lost the game by 24-20 but most of the reviewers regarded the defense put up by Nnamdi as best as it can get. The critics are already calling the game as the best game since Norv Turner was Raider’s coach.
Nnmadi born July 6, 1981, Louisiana, is a Nigerian-American. He plays as cornerback for the Oakland Raiders. He played college football at California. Raider’s signed Asomugha for $45.3 Million for three years. Tom Cables (Head Coach) has regarded him as Raider’s best defense. Raiders having lost important games with huge margins decided to reverse the situation for offseason. Asomugha was signed and younger talent was given chance instead of going on a lavish shopping spree. Despite criticism the results are already showing positive change.
Raiders played so well against San Diego chargers on 14th September that Asomugha publicly said that’” “For the majority of the game we were just playing tight out there. During a situation like that you don’t want to play tight on them because that’s when they’re going to do those crossing routes on you and pick you. So we tried to go into more of a zone effect and see if that would work”.
Asomugha has also played as a Captain for Oaklland Raiders in 2007. Asomugha has contributed significantly to philanthropic organizations. Asomugha also joined Clinton Global Intitiative. Through his family’s Orphans and Widows in Need (OWIN) organization, Asomugha and his family provide food, shelter, medicine, vocational training, literacy efforts, and scholarships to widows and orphans victimized by poverty or abuse in Nigeria.
