One more science fiction movie is ready for its striking introduction on the box office in first week of November. “The Fourth kind” is a stunning effort of Olantunde Osunsanmi. The movie is based upon documentary containing real incidents and scenes which were captured on video tape. The producer claims that movie comprises some scenes which have never been seen before.
The plot of the movie revolves around the typical theme which UFO-movies usually have e.g. human abduction by aliens who have arrived on earth on a UFO. “Universal” had the similar concept of kidnapping of human beings by the aliens. Milla Jocovich is playing the main role.
The concept of the film is based upon the aforesaid concept of human-abduction. This concept is inspired by the real incidents when people vanished from Nome, Alaska. The movie is not just the fictional fabrication but it displays the real footages of the documentaries containing real incidents but the charm of the fictional element does not seem to be undermined.
Milla plays the role of a psychotherapist who interviews the abductees of aliens and tries to understand whether the narrations of abductees are based upon reality or due to some sort of psychological disorder. She found that all her interviewees experienced extreme distress and fright on seeing the owl.
There is strong criticism as well. The critics have disagreed with the claim of “real-content” in the movie which is based upon the actual disappearances of humans in Nome. The critics are of the view that drunken people usually vanish and drown in the sea and Nome is a coastal area of Alaska.
