Washington D.C—President Barack Obama seemed like in a good mood on Wednesday, he has been photographed handling effectively a Star Wars lightsaber toy while presiding a fencing demonstration in the lawn of White House, this performance was arranged to promote Chicago as the site of Olympics 2016. President arranged this demonstration to elevate his hometown’s bid for the 2016 Olympics.
During the event, which was arranged in the White House Lawn, several dozen Olympic and Paralymic athletes were present, who performed Judo, gymnastics and fencing, this event capped the series of efforts, which White House has been doing to win the honour of hosting the 2016 Olympics for Chicago, which is not only the hometown of first lady but several other top presidential advisers.
Although host cities of numerous previous Olympic Games have lost money and finance, but Chicago residents thought otherwise, they see this as an opportunity to pull-off billions of dollars, to boost the economic development of the city and to raise its international profile.
Talking to the gathering Presiden Obama said, “The people gathered here this afternoon have had the Olympic spirit shining intensely within them for years, working with indefatigable energy to bring these Games to the city and the country we love,” and, I promise you, we are fired up about this, moreover he said American people are ready and so is Chicago, we want games.
“IOC” International Olympic Committee will be announcing the Host city for Summer Games on 2nd October in Copenhagen.
