The president of United States Obama made the presidential address to the public last night. He talked about the oil spillage disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. He gave his comments that BP shall be considered responsible for this problem. In Obama speech he outlined the steps that his administration is taking to come out of the oil disaster as soon as possible. Later on he changed his focus from his very own administrational mistakes to the fact that all the Americans must decrease the usage of fossil fuels. His opponents state that Obama speech clearly depicts the fact that he is planning to impose more taxes on the fossil fuels. They further stated that the way our economy is set up at the moment cannot be changed in a short time span. There have to be certain significant steps taken in order to reduce those problems, like the major types of cars in the United States of America are being run on petrol or diesel both being fossil fuels, policies must be adopted to start assembling electric and solar powered cars in the future. At the current situation imposing of taxes on fossil fuel products can destroy the economy and the public which is already fed up of paying high taxes might just head to revolt. Senator James sated that there is no connection between the oil spill and cap-and-trade. Obama speech has created a lot of buzz everywhere. The people fear any new taxes that might be applied on fossil fuel products.
