Ex- Tigers coach Oliver Purnell has made up his mind and there is nothing that is going to stop him from heading over to DePaul where he will be taking up the job of coaching them to better game statistics in basketball. DePaul has been having a bit of a bad streak in the past season as they had not won a single game of their three in the Big East while having eight losses over seven wins under previous coach Jerry Wainwright who had failed to produce the results that the team had hired him for. Though Jerry still had a couple of years left under his contract he was let go off by the Blue Demons for reasons that are pretty much obvious and then the interim coach Tracy Webster didn’t help the teams’ image much either as they only won a single game out of their seventeen in the Big East and finished the season with a terrible twenty-three losses to eight wins.
Oliver Purnell was excited at this opportunity for him to coach the Demons which will be made public today in Chicago somewhere around two thirty in the afternoon at a press conference that will take place in Chicago. He expressed his view and desire of turning the Demons into a team that will make Chicago proud and the official team for the city. Oliver Purnell has been a star coach in the last few seasons but the most recent one of his with Clemson showed his stats were amazing having twenty-one wins to ten losses and an entry into the NCAA tournament which the Tigers unfortunately lost in the first round.
