Inappropriate and bad weather is going make students to stay at homes. Old Dominion University, Virginia Wesleyan College, Norfolk State University and Tidewater Community College have dismissed the classes for today due to the storm and rainy weather.
The notice issued at ODU for the cancellation of routine classes includes the institutes at the Peninsula, southeastern part of US and Virginia Beach Higher Education Centers. All campus offices have also been closed due to bad weather. Authorities are counseled to touch with the weather department for further information.
Many other schools and colleges are advised to remain close till further instructions. Chesapeake Public Schools cancelled classes and employees are said to report on a two-hour delay. Currituck County Schools, Norfolk Public Schools, and Bertie County Schools also announced to open on a two-hour delay. Poquoson City Public Schools, Northampton County Public Schools and Accomack County Public Schools are close on Thursday, November 12.
Hampton City Schools was opened for routine classes, exactly on-time today, but all after-school activities were canceled due to horrific weather.
A good number of other Hampton Roads and northeastern North Carolina public school districts are pointed out that school authorities are supervising weather conditions and would make any closing or delay declarations according to weather changes.
Newport News Public Schools announced that all school activities are being rescheduled according to coming weather conditions. Students and school authorities are requested to stay at home till further announcement about the new schedule.
