Charla Nash chimp attack victim’s pictures are so graphic that most of the websites have refrained posting them. Watching Charla Nash and her story on Oprah Winfrey Show (11th Nov) all I could think of the excruciating emotional pain that Charla Nash is going through. Facing the world with the veil on just to hide the face so that the people might not scare away seems an impossible task, the same people whom she met and interacted with a charming smile on her face. Everybody watching the show had tears in eyes as she described that her daughter is going to a prom and that she wishes that her daughter chooses the best dress for herself and feel good.
Charla Nash was in the house of an old friend, Sandra Herold on the fateful day of February 16. Herold had a pet chimp named Travis. She cared the chimp, fed him and clothed him just like he was a child. However Nash was always scared of the animal, she told Oprah. Once chimp jumped on her back and pulled some of her hair out of the scalp. As Herold was watching, all she could do was to laugh. Herold was trying to put Travis back into his pet home and asked Nash to help her. As Nash tried, chimp attacked Nash. Chimp totally destroyed the face muscle, hands and the attack was so fierce that the chimp’s teeth were found in Nash’s body later on.
Charla Nash chimp victim hopes that she would receive total face implant along with the eyes so that she can face the world as she used to, before the attack.
