Oral Roberts Memorial Service attracted as many crowds as his preaching had inspired. Oral Roberts is mourned as someone who employed every media available to spread his message to the ones who desperately needed it. He was not only the founder of Oral Roberts University, he used the University as a tool to bring about the message of hope and preach his gospel.
Oral Roberts was 91 and was suffering from respiratory tract infection. His condition worsened as he fell in his house. Though he received minor injuries but broken bones along with the difficulty in breathing proved fatal.
Oral Roberts’ memorial Service was held at Oral Roberts University. Among the grieved were CBN founder who regarded Oral Roberts as one of his dear friends. Roberts was regarded to have been among most followed Christian preachers.
His employment of modern media like recordings, liver broadcast and World Wide Web to make Pentecostalism widely accepted is unprecedented. He was also regarded as someone who brought spirituality in the life of so many followers in an era where the mankind needs the message of spirituality and hope above everything else.
The University he founded would remain as a lasting memory of his message and would keep his legacy alive.
He remained very vocal about the fact that God cured him of tuberculosis and made him strong when he was just a frail and stuttering teenager. He invited others to experience the miracles he has experienced in his life by following the path he preached.
