Apparently Rep. Parker Griffiths had had it enough, he announced that he is switching allegiance to Republicans. Reportedly democrats did their best to get him elected. He barely made it to the house with 51% votes. His victory became more significant as the district he was elected from, did not favor Obama.
Democrats are accusing Patrick Griffith of not being loyal and ignoring the favors forwarded to him during his election. Democrats also stressed the fact that Parker Griffith was only being able to win because Democratic Party did everything in its power to get him elected.
Rep. Chris Van Hollen showed his dismay over the situation and asked Parker Griffith to return all the funds spent on his campaign.
The Republicans were obviously overjoyed and made it sure to cash the situation. They said that Patrick Griffith’s decision shows how fast the system is eroding and how the popular public choices are being ignored. They also accused Dems of being ignorant towards the wishes and views of the people.
Griffith has been increasingly critical of the Democratic Party and publicly opposed Nancy Pelosi’s election at the seat of speaker of the house and had said that he would never favor her. He criticized Pelosi for being too divisive.
However as a Democrat he often voted for the decision manifesting Democratic point of view except for Health Care Reforms which he opposed and voted against.
Reportedly his team has followed suit and has quit. Analysts are saying that his decision is in line with the hopes and wishes of the people of the District which he is representing.
