Currently thousands of America’s elite fighting men are battling in Afghanistan and more are intended to be sent soon. As announced by President Obama, soon new groups of troops will be sent to fight for America’s Afghan war. These troops are trained at Parris Island to fight in every war condition.
The marine training camp at Parris Island calls themselves the 911 branch of the US marines. The camps produce more than 22,000 men every year. Every year raw material (untrained human resource) is hired at the camp to be trained to become a part of America’s Elite fighting force. The trainers call Parris Island a place where ‘boys become men’.
Located in an area of 8,095 acres in Parris Island, South California, The US Marine Corps Recruit Depot provides initial military training to the marines. It hires men living only in the east of Mississippi River and females from all over the United States. The Depot at the Parris Island was first installed in 1891 and was first attached to the Naval Station of Port Royal. In November 1951, it was officially declared as the US Marines Training depot.
The instructors at the Depot uses most sophisticated training techniques. The training lasts for 13 weeks during which the social connections of the recruiters are cut off. The drill training includes weapon using techniques, martial arts, and close order drills. Other subjects which are taught during the training includes personal hygiene and US Marines history. The trainees are hired after an admission test.
The US Marines Recruiting Depot, Parris Island has produced some of the greatest fighters ready to face every fighting condition in any region of the world.
