Pelham Police Officer Shot

A Pelham police officer has lost his life due to firing of some unknown criminal. He was shot during a traffic stop and he could not survive the injuries and died. The place of shooting was sealed initially then it has been opened for the traffic. Interstate 65 north and south has been opened for traffic. The state and federal investigators are doing probe to find out who is behind the shooting. Police has taken in to custody suspect or suspects. The police authorities are not disclosing the name of the officer who has been shot to death. According to reports, a Pelham police officer was shot to death during traffic stop on December 3, 2009 at 11:50 pm. The name of the officer has not been revealed because police authorities say that they can not disclose the name until the close relatives of the officer are not informed about the mishap. The death of police officer is not being taken as a result of any police encounter with the criminals rather the crime is filed as the murder of the officer. Police officials told that one white man has been taken in to custody but they did not disclose his name as well. They told that his name will be disclosed after the completion of investigation and when he is charged formally. The process of investigation has started and the details will be disclosed as soon as concrete developments related to the murder are made. The police officials expressed their thanks to all people who assisted the police during investigation.
