2 persons have been killed in the Peen Hills county area including a police officer. According to the details, a police officer was shot dead while he was making back up call at a crime scene. The police officer has been identified as Michael Crawshaw. Police Chief Howard Burton talked to press and told them that Crawshaw reached the crime scene at a house. He followed the proper police protocol, parked his car some feet away from the house, and was calling for the backup when he was shot. Burton told the police officer Crawshaw went to the house when he received a 911 call about someone being inside the house with a gun. He was at the scene when he made call for more officers on his radio when someone walked up to the car and shot to kill him. He was taken to UPMC hospital where he succumbed to injuries and pronounced death. Te police officers found a second body who they suspect might have been killed by the same criminal. The second body was recognized as Danyal Morton. The deceased Danyal was from Pittsburgh. Police is investigating to look for the motive behind the death of 40-years-old Danyal Morton. Neighbors of the house, where the two bodies were found, say they heard at least 10 gunshots. An alert was also generated which was later removed.
Pittsburgh is the neighboring city of Penn Hills. The police officer Crawshaw, who was shot at the scene, worked for University of Pittsburgh police department before joining Penn Hills police office. Crawshaw is the fourth police officer who has been shot at the crime scene in the Penn hills and Allegheny County area.
Penn Hills has 15,000 residents. Police says they have no suspects but are looking for an SUV which was driven away from the crime scene.
