One of the funniest animated cartoon characters to exist Peter Griffin has been around for almost twelve years now. The show started when representatives from 20th Century Fox caught a glimpse of other cartoons which were created by the maker of Family Guy. They offered Seth MacFarlane a measly amount of fifty thousand dollars to produce a show that involved the characters on a short that Seth had produced back in 1995. The short was called “The Life of Larry” and was made when Seth was still studying at the Rhode Island School of Design as his thesis project.
Some of the cartoons that Seth has done in his career as an animator and producer include: Cow and Chicken, Johnny Bravo, Dexter’s Lab. Seth’s big break came when he started work on “The Family Guy” which sold millions of copies worldwide with Peter Griffin as the main character of the show.
Peter Griffin, it is shown, is an average American citizen in all other aspects other than his intelligence which is lower than average. The basis of the show is that this family, of which Peter Griffin is the head, goes through various dilemmas in an almost slapstick way. The family of Peter Griffin consists of two sons, one daughter, a wife and a talking dog. One of the sons in just a toddler and is named “Stewie.” Some find him to be the funniest of the characters as he expresses himself in a very dry and sarcastic humor.
Seth himself does the voiceover for Peter Griffin amongst five other main characters of the show.
