Danbury, Connecticut—Mary Travers, Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey were the well-celebrated folk trio of 60’s took a fall, Mary Travers the passionate voice to 60’s protest movement anthems has been silenced, she was 72-years-old at the time of her death.
Heather Lylis, the Publicist for trio told the media on Wednesday, that Mary Travers passed away at the Danbury Hospital, Connecticut; she was battling with leukemia for past many years.
Mary Travers joined her fellow band mates Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey in the start of 1960; they found their share of fame during 60’s when the style of this trio punched in the society, with the structure of music with respect to the composition and progression of chords and activist politics.
Mary Travers, Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey mixed their music with moderate politics, which become the heart of that generation; “If I Had a Hammer” is one of those songs with become the national anthem of racial equality, other songs included “Puff” and “Lemon Tree” and several others songs has been sung by this fabulous group of three.
