Pico Rivera is a city located in United State in the State of California. According to a population count in the year 2000 the population was sixty-three thousand four hundred and twenty three. The city was founded in 1784.It was named in 1958 after the Mexican Governor of California. It is located in the thirtieth United States Senate zone.
The Mayor of the city is changed every year. The earthquake which hit the Californian state on the sixteenth of March was supposed to be risen from the Pico Rivera city. The earthquake spread almost in a 10 mile radius. The earthquake was expected after that devastating quake in the Chile on twenty seventh February. The earthquake was the second biggest quake after the first quake hit the Chile later in January. The continuous series of earthquake are being reported in the Californian state but are mostly the after shocks produced by the seismic activity in that area.
Pico Rivera is supposed to be the center point of the quake that produced the Californian quake on Tuesday. The quake was reported to occur 4am in the morning when most of the people were sleeping in their homes. The quakes resulted in no damage. The United States Geological Survey inspected the possible damage caused to the buildings and bridges in the state. The quake travelled from East of L.A to the Whittier. The quake was reported to have a magnitude of 4.4.The tremor was felt for a couple of seconds but still shook the people who experienced the quake.
