Pink slips are being used as a sign of dissatisfaction of general public over the miserable plight of health-care and other issues which are not being addressed by the legislative organ. Almost five million pink slips have been sent to members of the congress. Many Republican congressmen are part of this rigorous campaign. “These pink slips are a call for fiscally responsible and constitutionally responsible Americans,” said Rep. Steve King of Iowa. A pink slip signifies termination of an employee meaning thereby that the congressmen, who are constitutionally responsible for the rigorous legislation over critical issues, do not perform their duty should be overthrown by people in next election. The pink slip is a “warning” to the elected congressmen. The figure of five million is just a very small sample of the original disgruntled population. These pink slips are representing those people who are tired of irrational spending on useless projects at the expense of basic health and other needs and are an “awakening call” from the masses that they are going to respond to bring back the cherished progress of the country.
