It’s been one week that Mr. Polanski has been arrested for a charge which was made against him years ago when he abused a minor sexually. Roman Polanski, who has won many awards and has won several academy awards, was found guilty of being involved with sexual activities with a minor. The incident happened in March 1977 when Polanski invited a 13-years-old for a photo shoot. Polanski was guest-editing fashion magazine for which he invited the girl to have her photo shoot. Polanski drove her to the house of actor Jack Nicholson. Apparently, Jack wasn’t present at home. According to the testimony of the victim, Polanski gave her Champaign and a drug. He sexually abused the minor afterwards. The then 43-years-old Polanski asked the terrified girl to keep the whole incident a secret from her mother. The victim made a court appearance in March 1977 and recorder her testimony in front of the grand jury. The jury filed case against Polanski on the charges of lewd act on a child aged under 14, having illegal intercourse with a girl under 18, and rape by the usage of drugs.
During the hearings of the case, Polanski requested the judge to permit him to go abroad for sometime for the shooting of his film. The judge gave him the permission and Polanski fled USA and never came back. He was arrested last week during a visit to Zurich when the Swiss court issued the warrants to arrest him. A copy of the victim’s testimony has been released on internet.
