The day was first celebrated a hundred and twenty years ago. Initially it was celebrated on the original birthday of Washington. Later on it started to be celebrated on the third Monday of every Feb.
Today it is being celebrated with national spirit. Some schools and colleges are open on Presidents Day 2010 and some are not. Many people who are expecting to receive important mail are waiting for postmen. Well as it is a federal holiday no mail shall be delivered today.

He was the man who has the biggest hand in the formation of United States of America. He was born in the eighteenth century. He fought for eight years for the freedom of America. After leaving the presidency he spent his leisure time in farming. He died two hundred and nine years ago. The city of Washington was named after him.
