North Nevada: 38 years old woman from Reno hit the jackpot as she becomes $33 Million richer.
On Sunday 38 year old Rachael Renee Romanick mother of four decide to spend a quite Easter evening at home when her friend talked her into going with him to the casino she also said that initially she had no idea how much she has won while playing slot machine at Terrible’s Rail City Casino in Sparks.
Rachael said she has played for about 10 minutes before she hit the jackpot while playing “megabucks” International Game Technology’s.
International Game Technology’s Vice President Ed Rogich said the company is pleased to have a local winner for the second largest jackpot in Companies history.
Rachael said “I had to ask someone if this was for real,” she said in an International Game Technology news release. “I kind of froze because this was so unexpected”.
In March 2003 at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas this payoff becomes the second largest from IGT as the first jackpot was of $39.7 million.
Nine years it been as no one has won a Megabucks in Northern Nevada it was at the Horizon Casino Resort at Lake Tahoe when a $7.7 million jackpot was hit in May 2000. IGT spokesperson Julie Brown said “So, we are way overdue”. She also said that “The Megabucks jackpot will be reset at $10 million”.
IGT spokesman Conrad said, “It’s too bad that it takes $33 million to get the media’s attention”. He also said, “we used to get their attention for $1 million, $2 million or $600,000 now a-days it is very hard to get attention anymore”.
IGT says it’s pleased that the “life-altering prize” went to a local resident.
