Sadness and grief is following the death of striking, young lady, Annie Le, who went missing days before she was to be married and police is following the evidence for murder. New Haven police carried out a search and have arrest warrant against Raymond Clark, a person of interest in the murder of Yale student. New Haven Police Chief James Lewis described Raymond Clark as a person of interest, not a suspect, in this case.
Police and FBI agents took him into custody just to collect the evidence as they have a lot of evidence from the crime scene and will be looking at Clark’s DNA and other physical evidence for any matches. Police said Clark would be released after they acquire support they need from him it is just a part of investigation; no charges were filed against 24-year-old Raymond Clark. Many other people gave out the sample of their DNA voluntarily, to help out the crime cell in finding the clue for the case.
Le was working for a Yale laboratory that conducted experiments on mice, and investigation team has found her body stuffed in the wall of the laboratory’s building basement, Raymond Clark works in this lab as a technician. Investigators started surveillance Clark’s home on Monday, after they discovered Le’s body.
Clark shares his apartment in Middletown, about 20 miles north of New Haven, with his girlfriend, Jennifer Hromadka, the couple has got engaged and planned to marry in December 2011, according to their wedding Web site.
Authorities had been reticent since Le was reported missing, just 5 days before her wedding day. Police say they have eliminated her fiancée as a suspect, from the investigation after getting information, he is a Columbia University graduate student, and police still not got any proof against him.
This disheartening incident sent shockwaves through Asian American communities as it is considered an immense loss of a daughter, a friend, a sister who had so much potential to cure unrelieved diseases. Monday night, more than 100 people, including university students and staff and other people came together with candles in hands, to grieve the violent death of graduate student. The students and faculty are shocked with the questions about campus safety.
