The plot of Rebel Without A Cause is one with many controversies which Jim Stark, the lead character faces. The role of Jim is played by James Dean who died by a car accident just a month before the movie could be released.
The life of Jim is complicated and he gets drunk often. The movie Rebel Without A Cause starts off with Jim being taken in by the police for being in a drunken state in public. After hearing of this his parents and his grandmother come to get him from the station. The family has just recently moved to L.A and have enrolled Jim into Dawson High school where he is confronted with bullies lead by “Buzz.”
Jims parents are always fighting and his mother seems to always end the fight with an upper hand, Jims father is a bit on the push-over side but always defends Jim. This constant tension in the house takes its toll on Jims mental state as the movie begins to show how restless he starts becoming. At school however he doe make a friend who they all call Plato and a girl he likes called Judy.
The Rebel Without A Cause is a classic movie that will be remembered as one of James Dean best performances and is a must watch.
