Fenway Stadium in Boston marked a spectacular Red Sox opening day 2010 as the New York Yankees were put into the tough position of playing their first game in the season at the rivals home ground and as if that weren’t already bad enough Neil Diamond made an appearance on the field after the eighth innings to rub it in to the Yankee’s face as he sung “Sweet Caroline” which is a song that the Red Sox have been using as their theme for quite a while now.
The Red Sox opening day 2010 at Fenway couldn’t have been more a stunning experience for Boston, which I’m sure confronted the problem of sold out tickets for the match which every living person in Boston would have wanted to be first in line to see and I feel bad for those who didn’t get to make it due to not finding a ticket to the show as it was indeed a show to remember. As the beginning of the event had jets fly over to mark the Red Sox opening day 2010, the end of the seventh innings saw none other than Steven Tyler walk on to the field with his Daughter Chelsea to sing a song that is not entirely Red Sox specific but a song that did inspire many into loving their country: “God Bless America.”
Indeed the Yankee’s couldn’t have opted for a tougher situation to play in and it showed as they lost the match by two innings when it came to a close at 9 to 7 for the Red Sox.
