Have you ever wondered why there are two names behind this day and why some people call Easter Sunday by Resurrection Sunday sometimes and when you ask them why they give you a strange look like you might actually be from Mars, or that alien species in the movie called ‘The Faculty’? Well not to worry anymore because I will tell you exactly what Resurrection Sunday is and how it is the same thing as Easter. See, on Resurrection Sunday -the name of it should really help you guess it by now- Jesus was actually taken back to his source, his creator and he said that he was life so it couldn’t ever be taken from him.
Resurrection Sunday is a day that the churches around the world participate in some kind of commemoration, whether it be a choir performance or just a sermon more passionate because it falls on this day. The Holy Week is going to be concluding with Resurrection Sunday and there will be the season of Lent coming head on to the worthy Christian who takes part in it by refraining from things or activities that they derive the most pleasure from.
It is something that has been remembered from the early days when the different apostles were compiling the Bible that these days were meant to be carried on to remind the people of the times and doings of Jesus. But then something else also comes to mind which is that all you have to do is be a good human being to truly remember Christ and honor his efforts in spreading the word.
