7th June, Rey Mysterio unmasked at Extreme Rules 2009 by Chris Jericho. Jericho not only unmasked Rey Mysterio but also pinned him to become the new Intercontinental Champion. This was a total shock for me, and I felt anger towards “Chris Jericho” however maybe Rey Mysterio previously agreed for this scene, and certainly this will make a high-quality story line for the wrestling show.
In an earlier interview Jerico said that he simply does not want Mysterio’s Intercontinental Championship belt he wants his mask too and in Extreme Rules 2009 he had that mask. Couple of weeks ago when Jerico impersonated as Ray Mysterio fan assaulted Mysterio in Smack Down while he was coming down to have a match, just to illustrate what kind of human being Jerico truly is, at Smack Down L.A he tried to take off Ray’s mask but Jeff Hardy saved him from his hands.
Ray Mysterio came to the ring all fired-up and during the first few minutes of the match Rey had Jericho on the outside of the ring and lashed him into the stairs, in the wall, and hit a “Hurricarana” off the ring to the outside.
But Jerico came back strong with a Lionsault and Walls of Jericho attempts, but Ray replied back with a splashing chair in Jerico’s face and Jericho was all set up for another 619, yet Jericho counters once again and ripped off Mysterio’s mask while he was still spinning on the ropes. Jerico instantly rolled him up in a School Boy and got the win. No camera showed Ray’s face because he covered his face with his hands and no one really got a look at him.
