Richard Ramirez suspects to be the killer of Mei Leung 25 years after the death. Mei Lis Leung was just 9 when she was abducted. As she tried to get free from the grip of her abductor she was severely beaten. The abductor went on to rape the little child and then stabbed her with some sharp object that resulted in her death. The crime was a perfect example of barbarity and inhumanity. It seemed to be a work of some animal or Satan. And Satan he is proved to be. The case had been closed by the police as a dead case because the detectives were unable to pin point some suspect.
Mean while Richard Ramirez was waiting for his death in gas chamber. He is convicted of murdering 13 persons and numerous robberies. Ramirez worshipped satan, as earlier as when he was 10 years old he started showing the signs of someone having interest in dark or evil forces as he was often found in graveyards.
Originally he was diagnosed with a mental disorder and the disorder may have played its role in shaping Ramirez’s personality as a serial killer. Moreover he became addicted to drugs and his father always blamed drugs as the culprit in making his son a criminal.
Anyways DNA testing was not on the scene when Ramirez was convicted. As DNA testing has become widely available Ramirez’s DNA profile matched to that of abductor of Mei Lis Leung. His blood was obtained to match his DNA to that of the Mei’s killer – both matched.
The discovery has put the date of the first killing by Ramirez three months back to that of previously believed.
