When the magazine Forbes came out with the list of billionaires for the year the whole world was left surprised and Warren Buffet and Bill Gates were left biting the dust of the richest man in the world who has now given the country of Mexico a position to be proud of. Carlos Slim, a seventy year old billionaire, ranked top on the list of a thousand and eleven billionaires around the world with holding assets worth fifty-three point five billion US dollars. The richest man in the world, one would assume, would live in a mansion built on acres of land but such was not the case and the lifestyle of Carlos was investigated further.
The richest man in the world lives in a house of just six bedrooms which may be elegant by do not compete to the houses of even those who stand much lower on the billionaire list. Carlos made his money at an age as early as when he was fifteen years old when he bought shares in a bank in Banco Nacional de Mexico, the largest bank in Mexico at the time.
Carlos did his degree in civil engineering and then started work on establishing his very own stock broking company and by the age of just twenty-six Carlos was sitting on forty million dollars. Currently his business empire is in charge of more than two hundred establishments which spans a range between restaurants and infrastructure. The main root behind his riches is his far-sighted acquisitions of assets through the early eighties recession that took hold of the Mexican economy and when everyone else was bailing out, Carlos was buying in.
