Another student from Richmond High school, CA has been accused of sexual assault. Police has arrested a 15-year-old student from Richmond High School, California in connection with a gang rape case. Almost 4-7 students from Richmond High School gang raped a girl after the homecoming dance. More shocking part of the story is the fact that many watched it happening and never told the police while some even recorded it with their cell phone cameras.
Police is looking for the witnesses and those who participated in the crime. Police called a 15-year-old student out of a class at the Richmond High School, CA to ask investigate about the incident and later arrested him in connection with the rape. Another student was also pulled out of the school for investigation but was released later. Another boy, Manuel Ortega, 19, was also arrested by the police in connection with the rape. He is not a student but he convicted the crime along with other students. Manuel is being held at the county jail in Martinez as he’s been accused of participating in the crime.
The teenage girl was attending the homecoming dance but then left the event to meet her father. She was walking down the parking lot when a classmate invited her to join him at courtyard. The group of boys was drunk with excess amount of alcohol when they started the vicious crime. The crime lasted two and a half hour and was still going on when the authorities arrived. The victim was robbed, beaten, and then sexually assaulted. The victim is hospitalized with unthreatening injuries.
The Richmond High School, CA administration has approved a new surveillance system for the school but also maintained that a student’s safety is not the responsibility of the school when he/she leaves the campus premises.
