Making his name on the back of Kate Moss following his shift to Italy for production Rick Owens hasn’t stopped his works of artful fitting since then. Rick Owens is a designer who started his own brand sixteen years ago in the year of 1994 after which he started supplying to a retailer who goes by the name of Charles Gallay. It wasn’t long after that – if you consider seven years a short period – that Rick moved his production to Italy after a sales agent for the company Eo Bocci Associati made contact with him and enlightened him about global prospects.
When Kate wore one of his leather jackets and it appeared in the fashion magazine Vogue in Paris, there was little Rick Owens could do to hinder his fate in the fashion designing industry. The New York Fashion Week which took place in the annum 2002 hosted his first every collection on the runway in September and since then he has been busy spurring out collection after collection. In the spring season next year he launched his men’s wear collection which was exhibited alongside his first collection and then subsequently decided to move shop to Paris where he is at work till the present day.
Rick, in his career of fashion designing has also come out with a book which he published after successfully showcasing ten complete seasons of his work. The book which goes by the title of “L’ai – Je Bien Descendue” is a work of his that talks about his history and how he made it to where he is.
