
A tribute to Ritchie Valens, big Bopper and Buddy Holly “The 1959 Dance Party” will be launched at Central Pennsylvania’s Gretna Theatre this summer Ray Anthony will be performing as Ritchie Valens, J.P. Richardson will be representing his father Big Bopper whereas John Mueller will be playing the role of Buddy Holly. “The 1959 Dance Party” will be produced by the classic stage musical “Seven Brides for Seven brothers” Broadway experienced person “Timothy Shew” and “Jane Brockman” will be the lead offstage cast for “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” as summer season drama at Central Pennsylvania’s Gretna Theatre. Directing the musical will be “Stephen Nachamie” a production of Johnny Mercer and Gene de Paul while Judy Williams-Henry will be choreographing the musical.
The musical will be following the life of Buddy Holly starting from his first recording to his move to New York including his mortal tour of Midwest America with The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens who died with him in the crash.
The theater was established in late 1800’s and has a significant history this professional theater was established as a part of Chautauqua Movement. Bernadette Peters, Faith Prince and Barbra Walsh has performed in the theater while late Laurie Beechman and Kaye Ballard has played their concerts in this historic theater and now another history is about to written in the golden pages when this musical “The 1959 Dance Part” a tribute to Ritchie Valens, big Bopper and Buddy Holly will be presented in the theater this summ.
