Much to the dismay of all the old timers who followed baseball back in the fifties the news of Robin Roberts dies has been leaked and unfortunately it is all true. Robin Roberts who has been known for his unorthodox pitching style was a pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies back in the day and he was known to have won the Phillies more than twenty games in just six seasons and these were just any wins but were consecutive wins. The news of Robin Roberts dies is something that would have been expected by people as he had turned eighty years of age some three years ago so at the time of his death he was eighty-three which is a relatively long life.
The man made it big in the early fifties with the Philadelphia Phillies after which he changed teams to the Baltimore Orioles for whom he played for just three years from 1962 to 1965. Robin was put on the baseball hall of fame in the year of 1976 after playing for two more teams, the Houston Astros and then the Chicago Cubs for which his career ended in the year of 1966.
Following the news of Robin Roberts dies the Philadelphia Phillies have decided to put up a little patch on all their shirts which says ’36′ because that was the number of the star pitcher who in his eighteen years of baseball got 2,357 strikeouts. Robin started his career with the Phillies in 1948 and continued with them for the longest time he has ever been with a team till 1961.
