Last night brought some tremors in the basketball game between the Cavaliers and the Pistons when Pistons point guard Rodney Stuckey fell to the floor in convulsions after taking a time-out in the third quarter. The match between the two teams which took place at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland was disrupted when Rodney Stuckey started shaking two and a half minutes into the second last quarter while he was sitting on the bench.
He was immediately rushed to the Cleveland Clinic as players from both teams gathered round to pray for his health. The medical team that came to the floor, after attending to him and putting an oxygen mask over his mouth, carried him out in a stretcher from where he was picked by the ambulance. After getting a check up done at the Cleveland Clinic he was said to be fine and respiring on his own.
The Pistons player Will Bynum is expected to be taking Rodney Stuckey’s point guard position till further information can be revealed about Rodney’s medical state for which he is being kept at the clinic over night. This will not be the first time that Rodney Stuckey has experienced such a seizure as in a game two years ago when the Pistons played the Celtics at home he had undergone a similar trauma.
The whole mindset of the game had been changed after the incident and the Pistons couldn’t in the end maintain their lead, losing the game by seven points at 99 to 92 for the Celtics.
