Rupp Arena’s seating chart is now available on its website. The seating chart is not intended to provide the detailed information for every attendee’s seat as the seating planning changes with every event. The arena has an official capacity of 23,500. However, it has accommodated up to 24,000 attendees during all basketball matches of University of Kentucky.
Rupp Arena is currently the largest basketball sports arena in United Sates. Located in Lexington, Kentucky, Rupp Arena was established in 1976. It is the center-attention of the Lexington Center. Lexington Center is the shopping center located in the downtown of Lexington. The center also houses an opera and a convention center. Rupp arena is home to almost every basketball event held in the country. The Rupp arena is unique in many ways. Unlike other sports arenas, Rupp Arena does not have any luxury suites. The Arena management never wanted to build one as for them such a suit would decrease the seating capacity. Rupp Arena becomes a full-house sports arena during the basketball matches of University of Kentucky when all of the match tickets are sold. The arena’s lower bowl also houses a standing area for students. One of the famous tenants of this area is Ashley Judd who is also an alum of University of Kentucky. Rupp Arena has been regularly hosting Kentucky’s Wild Cats basketball program for men.
NCAA tournament is one of the many events which held at Rupp Arena. The schedule of 2012 and 2013 NCAA tournament has been announced. According to the venue schedule, Rupp Arena will host the 2013 games. Rupp Arena last hosted the tournament in 2007.
