Russell Ferguson has been declared the winner of So You Think You Can Dance of the sixth season. With a limped leg, as according to him he ‘messed up’ with his knee, Russell Ferguson appeared on the show and it seemed initially that everything would go wrong for the dancer but when the result was announced, we knew that the winning title was given to the very well-deserved man. Russell Ferguson, 20, forgot about his injured knee, ripped off his shirt, and made a loud joyous scream! ‘Whoa!’ he screamed and then expressed his gratitude.
With the winner announcement, Russell Ferguson beats the most anticipated finalist Jakob Karr. In his interview, Russell Ferguson says that winning this competition means a lot to him and he hopes that it would bring stability to his career as a dancer. As a winner, Russell Ferguson receives $250,000.
A little more about Russell Ferguson:
Russell Lewis Ferguson was born and raised in Boston. He received his formal dance training from Boston Art Academy High School. He calls his dancing style as ‘krump’ and enjoys drawing, music making, and acting apart from dancing. He worships Michael Jackson and would like Americans to know his ‘raw’ and ‘rugged’ side.
Russell Ferguson has worked as a professional dancer for Boston City Lights.
Apart from some wonderful surprises, the finale of the sixth season brought some great performances by Adam Lambart, J Lo, and Mary J. Blige.
