As the full details are becoming available of the incident at Sacramento State University, it is reported that at least one student has succumbed to the stabbing wounds. Meanwhile authorities and police are unanimous in their assertion that campus and dorm rooms are completely safe as the suspect has been caught and is in police custody at the hospital. The incident remains a solitary happening and there seems to be no imminent danger of further attacks.
Police was informed about some disturbance in the dormitories of Sacramento State University. As the police arrived at the crime scene, the suspect attacked the officers with the sharp knife. The action prompted police officer to shoot a bullet, which injured the suspect. Students witnessed at least two bodies to be taken on gurneys. Later, it was announced that the victim who was attacked with sharp knife has died.
Though the full details are not yet known, students are saying that the two students involved in the incident were roommates; however this has not been confirmed. Police was seen taking their position in the courtyard near the affected dorm. Counselors are made available in the premises where incident took place and some students are being shifted from their dorm rooms as police evacuated the whole first floor of the building.
As the news is pouring in the suspect has been named as one Quran Jones 19, however the motive behind the killing is still not known. Police is also expected to release the name of the killed student soon.
