Sandy Vinge, 76-year-old American grandmother, advises not to let nay stranger enter your house. She recalls her experience and says that she is happy that the culprit is in jail.
The story of Sandy Vinge is not only shocking but may also push you to think about the possible intentions of the culprit. Sandy Vinge recalls last winter holidays when she was at her home and a vacuum salesman came to her house and sold a vacuum to Sandy Vinge. Jeffery Nelson who is just 20-years-old came to her house again on the evening of the day he sold Sandy Vinge a vacuum cleaner. Nelson requested her to let him make a phone call as his girlfriend has thrown him out of the house. Sandy Vinge, who have soft heart, opened the door for Nelson and let him come in but as she moved back after showing the phone, Nelson strangled her throat with the telephone cord. He then bound the 76-years-old Sandy Vinge with a duct tape and put her into her car. Sandy went unconscious but when she came to her senses she found herself trussed up in the rear of her car. Sandy Vinge was beaten by the young guy severely and she was denied from food and water for 26 hours.
Sandy Vinge recalls that she started praying desperately and thinks that her prayers were answered immediately as Nelson was stopped by the Traffic police for a violation. She says that she tried to wave the officer with her trussed up hands and fortunately the officer received the signal. Nelson was caught red-handed along with two other youngsters Luis Lomelli Osborne and Antoinette Marie. Marie, a teen-age girl, was discharged after a few days while Osborne will make an appearance for his trial next month.
Sandy Vinge was asked to testify against her abductor and she did that. Sandy Vinge says that she felt it was her duty to testify against him so that he could not harm anyone else.
A mother of two sons, Sandy Vinge says that she feels sorry for Nelson’s parents as he may remain away from them behind the bars for his entire life. Sandy Vinge thinks that it would be heart rending for his parents to know about him as they might not be aware of Nelson before.
Sandy Vinge expresses her gratitude over Nelson’s conviction and says that her life can finally move on now.
