Sarah Vowell gave the voice to the character of Violet or VI Parr in the animated film “The Incredibles”. VI Parr is a character in search of her true self. Sarah Vowell’s talents include writing, journalism and that of a gifted radio commentator.
Sarah Vowell has a fraternal twin named Amy. Her life story was presented on the radio program “This American Life” spanning an hour. She has been regularly contributing for the same program and it can be in a sense that “This American Life” has started her literary career. She has also won Music Journalism Award.
Sarah Vowell, 40, did her Masters from School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her recent writing accomplishments include The Wordy Shipmates & Assassination Vacation.Though she insists vehemently that she is not a historian, but nonetheless, she has considerable talent, presenting the history in an interesting and palatable manner. The Wordy Shipments is a historical narrative of Winthrop’s struggle to erect a model town. Whereas Assassination Vacation takes the reader to the sites dedicated as memorial of assassination of American presidents and what that reveals about the national character.
She got nominated for MTV Movie Award in 2005. Her writings have appeared in many newspapers and magazines nationally like New York Times, Los Angeles Times and GQ etc. Most interesting and well known fact of her is that she cannot drive and had to hire a driver to drive her to the historical locations and places for her research work. She has an amazing personality and a beautiful mind.
