Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson had never imagined that a part time ghost hunting would lead them to a super hit series on T.V. They were employees at Roto Rooter Plumbers and pursued their ghost hunting interest only after the job. Thinking, they may have left their job? No! although their first priority is “Ghosthunters” at scifi, they still retain their jobs.
The special thing about Ghosthunters is its approach to look into the folk lore scientifically. Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson proceeded to form The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS). The procedure to investigate a haunted place involves the TAPS members having consultation with the owner of the place to get some familiarity. Moreover this initial conversation gives the ideas of the places liked by the ghosts most. Next the team fits its instruments to record metaphysical activity going. The sensors usually involve an electromagnetic field checker, which monitors the slight changes in the electromagnetic fields in the area. A thermometer records the variations in temperature.
TAPS team admits that, more often than not, the reported ghosts are not present. Moreover the team absolutely does not take a cold spot or strange sounds or unusual movement as a conclusive proof of the metaphysical presence.
Ghosthunters is most watched program of scifi channel. As the show gained popularity, the TAPS team also moved their operations into a spacious place.
The program has its share of criticism and one of the most criticized area is the equipment team uses.
Previous seasons of the show included scenes from the personal life of Hawes and Wilson, however starting from the recent season, show would be all about the investigation of paranormal phenomena.
