A couple of disturbing photos led Scotty Lago to vacate his Winter Olympics accommodations in Vancouver and head for home today. One of the Scotty Lago girl kissing medal photos involved a girl biting into his bronze medal which he won at the Men’s Halfpipe completion. The photo could be seen as a crude joke that Scotty was playing in making it look like that he wanted to see the genuineness of the bronze that was used in making the medal.
The other Scotty Lago girl kissing medal photo which was also released by TMZ shows a girl kissing the bronze medal which was placed at an extremely inappropriate position. The bronze medal was tied around his waist and dangled in the ‘sensitive’ area while the woman kissed it.
The Scotty Lago girl kissing medal fiasco has created a widespread controversy amongst the Olympics organization committee which has termed the behavior irresponsible and unbecoming of athletes taking part in the winter games. As a standard to set for the rest of the athletes Scotty was looked down upon for doing something of this nature. Scotty doesn’t have any more events to compete in and has come to the conclusion of leaving the premises on his own accord saying that he was sorry for creating such a scene.
The Chief Executive Officer of the US Ski and Snowboard association, Bill Marolt, was of the view that such behavior by Scotty was completely unacceptable and that being the athlete that he is, Scotty should know how to behave responsibly.
